Additional Camp Blue Jay Info
Camp Blue Jay Dates/Holidays:
Camp Blue Jay is set to run from Tuesday, May 30th - Friday, July 21st.
We will have three holiday days off:
Monday, May 29th - Memorial Day
Monday, July 3rd - 4th of July Holiday
Tuesday, July 4th - 4th of July Holiday
Enrollment:
Camp Blue Jay is for all Rising Pre-k through Rising 5th grade students. (This is current 2022-2023 Little Saints through 4th graders.) Based on enrollment, we'll have 1-2 classes per grade. All Rising PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade students will need to provide a nap mat with an attached pillow/blanket.
Lunch/Snacks:
Camp Blue Jay will provide a morning snack. All students will need to provide a lunch. We are currently working with the Diocese Child Nutrition Program to see if we will be able to offer a school lunch and snack. We'll update parents ASAP.
T-Shirts:
One Camp Blue Jay t-shirt is included with registration. We will require all Camp Blue Jay students to wear their t-shirts daily. Additional Camp Blue Jay t-shirts will be available to order in March/April. (Cost of t-shirts is TBD based on enrollment.)
Daily Activities:
Students who attend Camp Blue Jay can expect a relaxed and fun daily schedule. Weather permitting, all students will have free play outdoors every morning. Once things heat up, we'll move inside to have various activities throughout the day. Every day will be something different! Included activities are arts and crafts, Spanish lessons, religion classes, mindful movement, and so much more! (All daily activities are subject to change.)
Weekly Activities:
Camp Blue Jay students will have multiple performers and activities brought right to them on our OLOM campus. We have everything from a ballet performance from the Baton Rouge Youth Ballet to bringing in a petting zoo with pony rides. Due to these activities being brought to Camp Blue Jay, we will not be taking any field trips over the summer. We are also planning to have a weekly water play day on our campus, weather permitting. (All weekly activities are subject to change.)
